The new solutions in the domain of metal forming - contribution of the Polish engineering idea

An impact of rising costs of energy (electricity, gas) and generally global economical crisis on the current state of the metal forming industry in Poland and in the world is the subject of the first part of the pap er. Particular attention is devoted to means of reduction of these objective constraints to satisfy the demands of the market in a sense of auantity and auality of the metal forming (forging) products. The efforts to find new technological solutions concurrent to know and commonly used processes in terms of energy consumption, manufacturing costs, environment protection and auality of products are therefore in focus of the research works. In the second part of the paper the example of the metal forming technology (KOBO extrusion) which result from the fundamental research and which potential has already been proven in industrial scale is given.
