RESOLVING ECOLOGICAL PROBLEMS AT OAO SAYANSKII ALUMINUM WORKS

Ecological problems at OAO Sayanskii aluminum works were being resolved already at the stages of design and construction.In electrolysis buildings, only modern technologies and gas-cleaning equipment are used, meeting all world standards. A production automation system is being installed, as well as a system for centralized automatic alumina feeding, which results in a considerable reduction of electrolyzer leaks during production operations. Operation parameters for gas-cleaning systems involved in aluminum production are given in Table 1.
