These videos, six in total lasting approximately twelve hours, are a comprehensive demonstration of Alan Frewin's working methods. Covering many techniques and influences from traditional English slipware and Italian tin-glazed earthenware, individual preparation and making methods throwing, turning and finishing plus unusual painting techniques are shown in consider able detail, in many types of product from flowerpots to elaborate fountains. A non-typical iron added ball clay earthenware body is used to give a reliable electric firing, but does not show any of the colour variation that would be the result of more traditional firing methods. Electricity is nevertheless the most popular method of firing among enthusiasts, and they will welcome the variety of methods shown in detail.
