Matthew Chambers works on his ceramics in a converted Victorian studio tucked away in the near-tropical village of St Lawrence, on a southern tip of the Isle of Wight. There I find him standing in a light-filled workspace, surrounded by spiralling pieces finished and in progress. We drink coffee, amid the clay and peace, and he shows me around. He's working to a nine-month plan of pure making, building a new body of work for a busy run of shows coming soon.
