1001 CUPS

Can teacups travel? You bet they can. The exhibition 1001 Cups, which I recently visited in Roubaix, France, was the sixth stop on an eight-venue tour around the world. Starting in New Delhi in 2009 the show went on to China, South Korea, and France, and will finish this year in Switzerland. In 2012 it will come back to Roubaix, where the museum La Piscine, a beautifully renovated Art Deco swimming complex, has been promised the entire installation as a donation to its permanent collection.
