Pottery in Myanmar

As we bounced over the potholed, narrow road between Mandalay and Shwebo, my husband Richard and I wondered what we were getting ourselves into. We are unreasonably excited by ceramics, the older the better. Our friend Don Stadtner, a tour director and expert on antiquities of Myanmar (formerly called Burma), had introduced us to Dr Aung Bo, an energetic man with a dimpled mischievous smile, who had invited us to stay at his family house and visit the family pottery factory, Aung Win Soe, International Trading Co., Ltd.
