Crystal Structure of Sodium 1,2-Cyclohexanedi-aminetetraacetatoplumbate(II) Heptahydrate

Sodium 1,2-cyclohexanediaminetetraacetatoplumbate(II) heptahydrate Na_2Pb(cdta) centre dot 7H_2O has been synthesized for the first time, and its crystal structure has been determined. The crystal structure is built of complex anions [Pb(cdta)]2~, hydrated cations Na(1)(H_2O)_(2.5) and Na(2)(H_2O)_(2.5), and crystal water molecules. The coordination polyhedron of the Pb atom is a pei pentagonal bipyramid PbO_4N_2E, where E is the lone electron pair. Complex anions [Pb(cdta)]2~ and cations Na(1)(H_2O)_(2.5)~+ and Na(2)(H_2O)_(2.5)~+ are bound together to form a loose framework with crystal water molecules residing in its cavities. The structure studied was compared to the previously studied crystal structure of Na_2Pb(edta) centre dot 2H_2O.
