摘要

The history of investigation, development and application of electrochemical scanning tunneling microscopy (ESTM) are reviewed. The heterogeneous electrochemical processes are well known to be affected by the factors connected with the formation and disintegration of adsorbed and chemosorbed particles on the surface of electrodes in the zone of double electric layer and adjoining phases with the thickness from one angstrom to several nanometcrs [1].
