摘要

Vidmanstatten ferrite arising after the solidification of low- and moderate-carbon steel castings is studied. The degree of supersaturation of the Vidmanstatten ferrite by carbon and its corresponding tempering properties (with or without excess-phase deposition) are considered, as well as the possible change in the degree of supersaturation of plate deposits as they inter lock with austenite undergoing transformation. The role of plastic deformation of the boundary volumes (deformational relief) is taken into account. This information may be used to improve the technology for the production and heat treatment of cast steel.
