Spectroscopic Study of Vanadium(IV) Extraction with Di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric Acid

摘要

Di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid is a bifunctional extractant having two functional groups, the hydroxy and the phosphoryl. Depending on the conditions like the concentration of chemical element and the acidity of the medium the extraction proceeds according to the cation exchange or the solvate mechanism. Di-2-ethyl-hexylphosphoric acid extracts vanadium(IV) according to the cation exchange mechanism. This process is sufficiently thoroughly studied [1, 2], but all the investigations were carried out in pure sulfuric and perchloric acid solutions. The effect of salts of alkali and alkaline earth metals on the extraction of vanadium (IV) was not evaluated. In this work the extraction of vanadium(IV) in the presence of sodium sulfate was studied.
