The state of the steelmaking industry as the main consumer of ferroalloys determines the tendencies for the development of the ferroalloy subarea of ferrous metallurgy. A permanent change in the dynamics and structure of steelmaking affects the character of ferroal-loy production and consumption. In spite of periodical oscillations in the world production, the general ten-dency toward growing the volumes of steel and ferroal-loy is retained.
