Fullerene model of the structure of high-carbon iron alloys

摘要

A new explanation for the interaction of iron and carbon in high-carbon iron alloys is proposed. Mass and IR spectroscopic data on the sample residues obtained in dissolving gray iron with acids are obtained. Carbon aggregates in the form of fullerenes are present in the material; this confirms the proposed model of the fullerene structure of such alloys.
