New Aminophosphoryl Extractants for Liquid Extraction of Pt(IV) Ions

Our earlier studies [1,2] showed prospects for the use of a-aminophosphonates for the extraction con-centrat-ing of the rare metals ions: Au(III), Pd(II), and Pt(IV). It was found that Pt(IV) was extracted with the lowest extraction degree in this metals series. We connected this fact with the dif-ferences in extraction mechanisms of these elements. Aiming at finding an a-aminophosphoryl reagent, which can quantitatively extracts ions Pt(IV), we studied the extraction process of Pt(IV) from aqueous hydrochloric acid media [1] by lipophilic a-aminophosphine oxides firsty synthesized by us of the general formula R2P(O)CH2R~1, where R = Hex (I-V), cyclo-HexO (VI),p-Tol (VII); R~1 = NHOct (I), NHBu (II), NBu2 (III), NOct2 (IV), NOctCH2P(O) Hex2 (V), N(2-EtHex)2 (VI), NHOct (VII). For comparison we used metal extractants employed in the industry, O,O-dibutyloctylphosphonate VIII and trioctylamine IX.
