摘要

Using biomass in complementary routes for power production is a very modern tendency given that biomass is one of the most important renewable energy sources.This can be done by modifying,in an economical acceptable manner,existing technologies,the main concern being not to lower the efficiency of the power cycles.The option presented in this paper combines the advantages of two well known technologies:external firing and gas turbines(the later having the potential of high efficiencies),through co-utilization of biomass and natural gas.Biomass is burned to provide heat for partial reforming of the natural gas feed.In this way,biomass energy is partially converted into chemical energy contained in the produced syngas.Up to 5% of the natural gas feed can be replaced by biomass,without a significant drop in the cycle's efficiency.
