MOVING ON

We need to change the mood, the culture, says Michael Hallett FRPS, as he takes over as Chair of Education. These are his notes to himself making connections, crossing bridges, and moving on ... There is a long established feeling out there that The Royal Photographic Society is somewhat old fashioned, irrelevant to modern photographic practice, and more involved with its own self than the outside world. There is also the mistaken belief that its Distinctions have a limited currency in the real world. The majority of the public would be unable to articulate their reasoning for this, but that becomes irrelevant if this is the perception. Mud sticks.
