We present the results of a study of the load capacity of an open chain transmission with periodic lubrication. We develop the mathematical model of the period of the effective action of the lubricant in the hinge. The account for the influences of the air-abrasive ambient medium and the period of the action of the lubricant in the hinges makes it possible to significantly refine the load capacity of the open chain transmissions.
