摘要

We examine the use of the methods of linear fracture mechanics to evaluate the strength of the load-bearing parts of the railcar. The primary attention is devoted to the question of the operation of these parts after the appearance of a crack with account for the seasonal temperature variation. We propose to evaluate the operating life of the load-bearing parts in this case on the basis of the description of the crack growth process with account for the dependence of the random strength and dynamic-loading characteristics on the ambient temperature. It is shown that account for the influence of the seasonal temperature variation on these characteristics of the load-carrying parts increases the crack growth rate.
