Onkar S Kanwar, Chairman, Apollo Tyres Ltd, has made it to the Tire Industry Association's (TIA) Hall of Fame 2011, a rare, achievement the whole Indian tyre Industry can genuinely be proud of. Kanwar was the only non-American among the four industry veterans who were inducted into the Hall of Fame this year for their contributions to the global tyre industry. The induction ceremony was held on October 31, 2011, at Las Vegas, USA. The three others are Bill Fountain, Co-Fonnder, Canada's Fountain Tire, John Gamauf, former head of Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.'s Consumer Tyre Division, and Ralph "Buddy" Snow, Vice President and General Counsel for Oliver Rubber Co.
