ANTIMONY: LOWER JAPANESE DEMAND IN FLAME RETARDANTS-Exports of antimony metal from Vietnam increase

Japanese consumers are almost totally reliant on antimony imports. In the first half of 2016, Japanese imports of antimony metal remained broadly stable at 2,903t (Table 1). Lower imports from China (-13% year-on-year) were offset by an increase in shipments from Vietnam (+132%), where Chinese companies have established production lines.
