Ceramics have often been considered the poor relation to fine art, but slowly their reach in the salesroom is gaining traction. Prices are rising. High-end glossy magazines are writing about them; ceramics as a medium are moving beyond their traditional boundaries as an art form. This, as we know, was not always the case. When I left the Courtauld in 2007, few courses and little attention was given to 'three-dimensional' art.
