Indroda Dinosaur and Fossil Park It Preserves India's Prehistoric Heritage

At the entrance of the Indroda Dinosaur and Fossil Park, located in Gandhi-nagar, Gujarat, India, I am greeted by the smiling face of Kusum Suthar, Nature Educator. Indroda is divided into three sections. The first is the Dinosaur and Fossil Park; the second is the botanical garden, where 800 species of plants, shrubs, herbs and climbers grow; and the third is the zoo. Indroda Dinosaur and Fossil Park is the first dinosaur park in the state of Gujarat, India, and it was inaugurated on June 5, 2002. The Directors of Indroda, namely Dr. H.S. Singh, C.N. Pandy, Bharat Pathak, and B.R. Raval, who is the Deputy Director, have been instrumental in developing and creating awareness for this park. Paleontologists have used both carbon dating and radiometric dating to deduce the age of the fossils at the park.
