摘要

A highly repeatable solidification test was developed. It was designed to study the effect of process parameters on solidified micro and macrostructures. Different cooling rates were used for solidification and cooling of S 355 J2 construction steel. It was observed that cooling rate has a substantial influence on final grain size and on columnar-to-equiaxed transition zone (CET). Within the interval of constant thermal gradient, different macro-and micro-structural features have been provided, which consequently enables the study of dynamics of precipitation dependence on solidification processing parameters.
