This paper describes the improvement on the and production of clean steel which has been made in No.3 steel plant, Wisco, in recent years. A series of measures have been taken to control the chemical composition and the content of non metallic inclusions, as well as the modification of the non metallic inclusions. So, a low content of such elements as (C) = 28 ppm, (N) = 1-25 ppm, (H) < = 1.5 ppm, T.O. < = 25 ppm in IF steel can be reached. Moreover, (S) in pipeline steel can be decreased to less than 20 ppm, with even a minimum of 5 ppm.
