Furnace off-gas systems, such as basic oxygen furnace hoods and electric-arc furnace hoods, are a critical part in steelmaking operation. These hoods have to handle effluent gas streams with extremely high temperatures and high flue gas velocities containing particulate and corrosive chemical constituents.
