摘要

Why is doping a burning issue nowadays? Is sporting credibility at stake after corrosive doping scandals? What can be said about doping and physical enhancement? What does it mean and involve the fact of increasing athletes' capabilities? Are human enhancement treatments in sport ethically acceptable and legally viable? And if so, where can we put the boundary line between what is legal and what is not? In other words, what should be the criteria for ethical-legal evaluation of these treatments?Firstly, this work, with a very suggestive title: The Challenges of Modern Sport to Ethics: From Doping to Cyborgs, aims to create opportunities for reflection on the inevitable questions that have been raised within a matter currently generating a storm of controversy, i.e. doping in sport. The book underlines significant differences and approaches from the legal, philosophical, ethical and social world.
