Diagnostic and Therapeutic Challenge

This case was submitted by Drs. Changxian Yi and Xiaoyan Pan of the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Guangzhou, China.A 32-year-old woman presented with acute visual loss in the right eye. She denied any medical history or family history of ocular disease. She was not receiving any medication. She was evaluated for syphilis and herpesvims, cytomegalovirus, and human immunodeficiency virus infections. Results of these tests werenegative.
