A field experiment was conducted in Rajasthan, India, for two consecutive rabi seasons (2004-05 and 2005-06), to find out the effect of cultivars (Rmt-1 and Rmt-303), fertilizer levels (0, 10 kg N+20 kg P2O5, 20 kg N+40 kg P2O5 and 30 kg N+60 kg P2O5/ha) and growth regulators (water spray (control), ethephon at 100 ppm and NAA at 20 ppm) on fenugreek yield and yield attributes. Rmt-303 gave significantly higher number of pods per plant, seeds per pod, test weight, grain and straw yields compared to Rmt-1. Application of 30 kg N+60 kg P2O5/ha resulted in significantly more grain and straw yields, number of pods per plant, seeds per pod and test weight than the control. Significantly higher grain and straw yields, number of pods per plant, seeds per pod and test weight were recorded when NAA (20 ppm) spray was given at the preflowering stage compared with ethephon (100 ppm) during both years.
