An experiment was conducted during the kharif season of the years 2006 and 2007 at Agricultural Research Station for Irrigated Crops, A. A. U., Thasra, Gujarat to evaluate productivity and economics of rice under different age of seedling K_l (10 to 12 days old seedling) and A_2 (25 to 30 days old seedling), five levels of organic manures-M_1 (No organic manure), M_2 (FYM 10 t/ha), M_3 (Vermicompost 2 t/ha), M_4 (FYM 10 t/ha+Bio-fertilizer) and M_5 (Vermicompost 2 t/ha+Bio-fertilizer) and two nitrogen levels N_1 (75 kg N/ha) and N_2 (100 kg N/ha). The grain yield was significantly the highest (5287 kg/ha) under age of seedling treatment A_1 (10 to 12 days old seedling). Application of 100 kg N/ha (N_2) recorded significantly the highest grain yield(5382 kg/ha) and net returns Rs. 20543/ha as well as CBR and net CBR (1 : 2 : 05 and 1 : 1.05), respectively, as compared to treatment N_2 (100 kg N/ha).
