Wet trapping of ink layers is only possible where the multiple ink layers do not face a hard surface, e.g. a turn bar on the press, until they are completely cured with an electron beam. Any such contact would rub the image. Although capable of wet trapping they are not dry enough to withstand an abrasive surface. This limitation restricts wet trapping techniques and formulations to Common Impression (CI) flexo presses. Gravure printing presses have multiple rollers prior to an end of press EB unit.
