With the UK's system of producer responsibility for battery recycling set to come into force on January 1 2010, the nuts and bolts of just how both producers and retailers will meet their obligations under the Battery Regulations are gradually falling into place.As of October 15, all producers who are obligated under the Regulations are now expected to have signed up to one of the seven batteries compliance schemes who were approved by the Environment Agency at the end of September.
