Cory awarded ￡85m North Somerset deal

North Somerset council has handed waste management firm Cory Environmental an ￡85 million contract for waste processing and disposal. The seven-year deal will see the London-based firm take over from current contractor Veolia Environmental Services on March 1 2010 and involves the management of the council's waste transfer station, treatment of green and food waste and residual waste disposal.
