Sandwell narrows ￡1bn contract shortlist

Biffa Waste Services, Enterprise Managed Services and a consortium led by services company Serco have been left in the running for Sandwell's 20-30 year ￡1 billion integrated waste management contract. The West Midlands council said that it had dropped a Focsa/Waste Recycling Group consortium and Veolia Environmental Services from the shortlist after a "rigorous evaluation process".
