Optical fibre with photoacid coating

A coating for optical fibres that reduces fibre fatigue resistance is described. Optical fibres can experience sharp bending in confined spaces and this reduces the lifetime of the fibre. A coating is described that contains one or more acrylates, a photocurable base compound that activates polymerisation, and a photoacid generating (PAG) compound that liberates an acid group.
