Erratum: Outcomes of stereotactic ablative radiotherapy for central lung tumours: A systematic review (Radiotherapy and Oncology (2013) 106 (276-282))

The authors regret that there are some discrepancies in the data they cited from the paper by Milano et al. titled "Central thoracic lesions treated with hypofractionated stereotactic body radiotherapy". They mistakenly interpreted the modal dose fractionation used in this report as being '5 fractions of 10 Gy', when it was actually '10 fractions of 5 Gy'.The authors would like to make the following corrections to the manuscript: Table 1: Modal fractionation for Milano should read 50/10 (not 50/5); Table 3: Modal BED3 for Milano should read 133 (not 217); Results: The partial sentence starting page 279 should instead read'.. .tumours receiving a BED3 ^210 Gy, the rate of treatment-related death was 3.4% (10/296), while it was 1.0% (2/204) when the SABR schedule had a BED3 <210Gy (calculation excludes results from Milano et al. where all 4 deaths occurred in patients with Stage II-III NSCLC, 2 of whom had repeated courses of SABR).'; Discussion: The following sentence is incorrect and should be disregarded, 'Of these, Milano et al. reported only treatment-related deaths (n = 2) when utilzing 50 Gy in 5 fractions, both of which occurred in patients receiving SABR for node-positive NSCLC. This error does not alter the conclusions of the study, but more accurately reflects the source data that were presented.
