Intaglio printing inks

Conventional intaglio inks (or engraved steel the inks) drying by a process of oxidation can suffer from set off when the printed sheets are stacked. The intaglio process allows for high or low film weights to be printed thus creating a tactile effect in the printed image. However, with the higher film weights there is an increased risk of set off; the effect is worse on the less porous surfaces used in some applications.
