Guidance on the application of the CLP criteria

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) released guidance on the application of the CLP (classification labelling and packaging) criteria in August 2009. To take into account the second adaptation to technical progress of the CLP Regulation by EU Regulation No 286/2011, it was necessary to update the environmental criteria chapters and further guidance was published in April 2012. The guidance has now been further updated for Part 3 Health hazards, relating to specific concentration limits (SCLs) for four hazard classes: skin corrosion/irritation; serious eye damage/eye irritation; reproductive toxicity; and specific target organ toxicity — single exposure (STOT-SE).
