REACH registration - Register anatase not titanium dioxide

The European Chemicals Agency has issued a new practical guide on how to address specific substance identification issues under obligations for Reach. This guide clarifies that inorganic substances with the same chemical composition but different crystalline forms are regarded as different substances under Reach. For example, when specific crystalline forms of titanium dioxide (anatase, rutile, brookite) are manufactured, the registrants should register each distinct crystalline form as a different substance, that is, anatase should be registered, not titanium dioxide.
