Marketing has been slow to hit the hospital world, but in many areas it is picking up steam. Hospitals are beginning to realize there are customers tied to a brand and branding carries importance in drawing customers into healthcare facilities. Hospitals are finding ways to brag about quality, magnet designations, Baldridge Awards, HCAHP scores, customer service results, and service line programs through media venues. Many hospitals are establishing marketing departments to accomplish the task of branding and more and more ads are appearing on local television promoting hospital services.
