Court grants Huntsman's request for expedited trial in Hexion merger

HUNTSMAN CORPORATION says the Delaware Court of Chancery has granted its request to expedite a review of issues surrounding its merger agreement with Hexion Specialty Chemicals.The trial is scheduled to begin on 8 September.Huntsman,which is based in Woodlands,Texas,USA,says the trial will address Hexion's claim that the combined Hexion and Huntsman business would be insolvent.Its board of directors has acted to extend the merger agreement termination date to 2 October 2008.
