On match days, Arsenal's new 60,000-seat Emirates Stadium provides 2,000 meals for 150 executive boxes, food from 250 serving points and dispenses up to 30,000 pints in a half an hour. To help achieve this, KCCJ, the main sub-contractor for catering at the stadium, sought advice on the refrigeration options from wholesaler NRW. NRW provided the best refrigeration options and installation guidance to match the needs of the stadium. Traditionally, equipment for such installations has been designed either as numerous independent condensing units, that provide refrigeration for each cabinet and cold room, or using a central multi-compressor pack with a remote condenser. The central pack generally requires a plant room for which space is not always available, while numerous independent condensing units can have drawbacks due to site location, accessibility, noise and energy costs.
