Price increases fail to calm the nerves

Scrap prices recorded significant increases during Novembe despite the fact that consumers in many parts of the world -and notably Turkey - are struggling to obtain higher prices for their finished products. As a result of this and worrying news out of Dubai, nervousness rather than euphoria is stalking theferrousscrap market. As Recycling International went to press, cfr price indications for shipments from Europe and the USA to Turkey were as follows: US$ 295-300 per tonne for standard quality HMS I/II 80/20 scrap; US$ 300-305 per tonne for shredded; and US$ 290-295 per tonne for the HMS l/ll 70/30 mix.
