Giant Coca-Cola recycling plant unveiled

The US-based Coca-Cola Company and plastics recycler United Resource Recovery (URRC) of Spartanburg, North Carolina, have opened a new US$ 60 million, 9300-square-metre 'bottle-to-bottle' recycling facility.The state-of-the-art plant, said to be the largest of its kind in the world, will produce annually around 45.5 million kg of food-grade recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or the equivalent of some 2 billion plastic Coke bottles.
