Flouroscopic positioning is bad practice.

Editor:I am writing regarding the article "Fluoroscopic vs Blind Positioning: Comparing Entrance Skin Exposure" published in the September/October 2009 issue. I want to commend the authors on providing readers with good measurements and analysis addressing the controversial practice of using fluoroscopy as a positioning aid. As the article states, this'practice is condemned by the ASRT. It also is condemned by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine and the National Council on Radiation Protection, and for good reason.
