Grande Prairie, AB-The City of Grande Prairie has received 50,000 dollars from Climate Change Central to be applied toward a 135,000 dollars study of the feasibility of using waste heat from a new power plant to heat city buildings. The power plant, to be installed by Canadian Gas and Electric, will use waste wood from a Canfor sawmill to produce electricity, and will deliver the excess heat produced to nearby buildings.
