Halifax, NS -- Nova Scotia has initiated a 30-day public comment exercise on an electronics stewardship program. In many respects, Nova Scotia's plan is far sere aggressive than any of the other provincial initiatives seen so far. And as has been its practice with other stewardship initiatives, the province is proposing to ban electronics from landfill once the program is in place. The draft regulation covers a range of products, including televisions, computers, printers, scanners, audio and video equipment, telephones, fax machines, cell phones and other wireless devices, and electronic game equipment. The province estimates its residents will send some 4puu tonnes 01 electronic waste to landfill this year.
