An experiment was conducted on a kabar soil at Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi during 1992-93 to 1994-95 to assess the productivity of Sesbania sesban alleys and its impact on fodder sorghum intercropped under different sesbania alley widths and moisture regimes. Significantly higher green fodder, dry matter and crude protein yield of sorghum was obtained from sole crop without alleys. Among different moisture regimes; yields were significantly higher with irrigation at -2 deg C CATD during all the three years of experimentation. Plant height, plant population, leaf stem ratio and leaf area index did not show significant difference due to alley distance and moisture regimes. Relatively higher green fodder, dry matter and crude protein yields of Sesbania were obtained from 4m alley width and with irrigation at -2 deg C CATD values. Pooled data of three years revealed that forage and crude protein yields from the whole system were highest in 4m alley width and with irrigationat -2 deg C CATD.
