Broomweed is one of those plants you usually don't notice until it suddenly appears in late summer. Then it's too late to do anything about it, except shred it, and no land manager wants to get into that mess as long as the local quail expert says Broomweed is good for quail. Also if you shred it, you leave stiff stubs that are sharp enough to punch holes in a cow's nose attempting to graze, so say the coffee-shop cowmen who specialize in talking.
