AEC Now Delivers Electronic Showcase of Aluminum Extrusion Applications

The Aluminum Extruder's Council (AEC) has released the latest issue of the Aluminum Extrusion Showcase, a new graphic-intensive elec-tronic news magazine highlighting the versatility of extruded aluminum targeted toward designers, engineers, and other decision makers. The Aluminum Extrusion Showcase brings to life the many applications of extruded aluminum in a rich display of photographs, images, interviews, and technical information. The newest Showcase features the 2005 Ford GT sports car with its history-making extruded aluminum space frame. The all-aluminum chassis uses extrusions to con-nect four comer castings to one behind the passenger compartment, creating a rigid, strong, lightweight frame. Thirty-five extrusions were used for the 2005 Ford GT. 30 of which were developed specifically for Ford by AEC member company Hydro Aluminum North America.
