ARABAL 2004 'Critical Issues, Global Trends, and Drivers' for Aluminum

The 11~(th) Int'l Arab Aluminium Conference, 'arabal 2004' will take place in the Kingdom of Bahrain from April 19-24, 2004. With the theme "Critical Issues, Global Trends, and Drivers" the event seeks to examine the most important issues facing the industry today, and the role of the region in the growth and development of the international aluminum scene. In the past, the biennial event has attracted delegates from over 30 countries to this very important region. Over 600 delegates are expected to attend next year's conference, which offers 13 speakers, an exhibition, and an opportunity to visit the Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA) smelter. For a small island, Bahrain is a great center of aluminium production, with the thirty-two year old ALBA smelter there now undergoing expansion. The new Line 5 Project will add 288 pots boosting production at the smelter to over 800,000 mt towards the end of 2005, making ALBA the second largest aluminum smelter in the world.
