Design Competition Recognizes Exceptional Magnesium Applications

Three Awards of Excellence were presented at the recent International Magnesium Association's (IMA) 64~(th) Annual World Magnesium conference in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. This 44~(th) year of the competition continued the tradition of recognizing outstanding examples of magnesium products and manufacturing technologies. The award competition was grouped into three categories: Design, Process, and Application. The Design category featured two subcategories: cast products and wrought products. No award was given this year in the Application category. The competition is open to any organizations or individuals, whether IMA members or not. This year's competition resulted in two winners in the Design category and one winner in the Process category. Winning awards where displayed in the conference exhibition area. Award presentations occured throughout the conference program including receipt of a plaque by representatives of the winning companies.
